The serial is an adaptation of the Hindu mythological story of Manasamangal Kavya and Behula. Manasamangal Kavya is the oldest poetic story of the Bengali Snake Goddess Manasa and it narrates how the Goddess established her worship in Bengal by converting an ardent worshipper of Lord Shiva to her own worship.
